It shouldn’t be too much to say that the second half of 2009 is Taiwan’s 'Pea Princess' happiest and most dreamy time! In a short span of four months, not only could Taiwan see SS501’s 'real person' twice, but was also the third stop for SS501’s 2009 Asia Concert Tour, after Korea and Japan. With such "자다가 떡이 생긴다*" (jadaga ddeok i saengginda*) happiness, stop asking the pea princesses to calm down, how can it be possible to remain calm! Because even Trendy wants to shout with the Pea Princesses “Mansae!”
(*자다가 떡이 생긴다 literally means "How lucky I am to have ddeok unexpectedly in the dark of night/or when sleeping". Ddeok/Tteok 떡 is rice cake, and rice cake is a celebratory food that are only being eating during sad or happy occasions, like wedding, birthday, new year's day, funerals and etc. So in some way, it means that it is an unexpected happiness. Pick up at the Airport: Taiwan Peas’ Creativity, trying to win SS501 laughter
When Trendy and the cameraman reached Taoyuan Airport, there was already a large amount of fans waiting. The cute pea princesses (SS501’s fans), to welcome SS501’s arrival, had prepared all types and kinds of banners and signs in large amounts. Their out of the box creativity, made the airport looked like an enjoyable carnival. Just as everyone’s neck was stretching longer than a giraffe’s, finally we see a red fedora wearing, flashing his very bright smile, Jung Min appearing at the arrival gate! After him was Hyung Joon and KyuJong and behind Kyu Jong was Prince Young Saeng all dressed in white and Hyun Joong wearing his super cool dark shades. Five of them were surrounded by the large number of media and fans, hence they could only move forward slowly. However, the five of them were still very friendly and waved to the fans continuously, causing the airport to be filled with screams which were like waves, one after another.
OOH! Suddenly, it seemed like something caught the eye of the five simultaneously, not only causing the five of them to constantly look back and it seemed like laughter was erupting from the midst of the five, which were even louder than the screams at the airport.
So what exactly was it? Actually it was a humorous signboard prepared by the pea princesses. There is a picture as proof, isn’t it really creative and humorous?! No wonder they could make SS501 so happy the moment they landed. Taiwan pea princesses, all of you are too good! From the time SS501 reached, most of their time were spent on rehearsals, even their request towards food were simple lunch boxes, instant noodles and soft drinks, all focused on preparing for the concert.

Hyun Joong’s Doraemon
Kim leader, Hyun Joong who has just recovered, didn’t have much expressions after landing, in addition to the black cap and large shades he was wearing, adding the cool factor. However, Trendy had a very cute finding – there was a Doraemon’s head fan hanging from Hyun Joong’s neck! Amazingly, the Doraemon fan on the very cool Hyun Joong didn’t look out of place, but instead there was an odd sense of suitable combination, maybe it’s because of the 4D and child-at-heart nature Hyun Joong has!
Jung Min is Peter Pan
Since the Seoul Concert, Jung Min has been keeping the pretty and cute fringe hairstyle and appeared with matching his style with red fedora. This hat seems to be a favourite accessory of Jung Min’s, as during the last fan meeting in Beijing, Jung Min also wore the same hat when he landed! The lively and friendly Jung Min resembles the fairytale’s Peter Pan immensely, as he couldn’t wait to fly next to everyone the moment he landed.
Hyun Joon’s low profile luxuries
As compared to the four other hyungs, Hyung Joon seem much more plain, aside from the slightly attracting cowboy hat, there wasn’t really much eye catching accessories. However, Hyung Joon’s black tee is actually a branded Italian good, simple but fashionable and stylish, seems like the low profile luxury type of style suits Hyung Joon very much!
Super Stylist Skateboarder Youth Kyu Jong
Wearing the stylish cap with a skull design on the opposite side and a loose jacket, the skate boarder style of dressing, Kyu Jong was even more handsome and shinning. In addition, when leaving the arrival hall, there were huge headphone around his neck, maybe he was happily listening to music on the plane? Probably visiting Taiwan for the second time allowed him to be more familiar, Kyu Jong was less shy and always had a smile on his face. He even playfully stuck his tongue out at Trendy’s cameraman.
Young Saeng’s Angel Wings
Prince Young Saeng always took the quiet approach and this time he appeared in an all snow white Prince Charming style. Young Saeng really likes the brightness and cleanliness feeling of white, even though he was all dressed in white, his shoes with the pair of “angel wings” were exceptionally eye catching. The sports shoes’ special wing design and matching with Young Saeng’s shy smile resembles a cute angel a lot!

During the visit to Taiwan, there was only one activity of attending MTV JK Pop Music Craze (to be aired on 10/28~10/30). Of course, this time Trendy also showed the spirit of tagging along to bring everyone the exclusive news of the behind the scenes for the filming of MTV JK Pop Music Craze.
Before the filming, Ken Wu (host) was very seriously practicing non-stop the Korean tongue twister specially designed using Hyun Joong and Hyung Joon’s name. Highly anticipating, what will SS501’s reaction be when they are listening to this tongue twister?
Greetings: Chinese and Korean Exchange
When Hyun Joong first entered the filming room, his refreshing short black haircut caught everyone’s attention. Just after recovering from his illness, he looked much better, and the flesh around his cheek started growing. Hyun Joong continuously used Chinese to greet everyone “ Da jia hao” to say hi to everyone around.
Being sharp eyed, he saw Trendy hiding in the corner in a low profile manner and specially walked over to give a friendly greeting, a really courteous leader Kim! Similarly, the remaining four members also used Chinese to politely greet everyone. Especially when Jung Min walked in, Jung Min’s unrivalled huge smile allowed everyone to feel his good mood.
When Jung Min saw Trendy, he seemed very shock and immediately said to Trendy, “ Hao jiu…hao jiu…hao jiu… (literally mean Long time in Chinese)” the last interview allowed him to remember Trendy, and the little tag-a-long (Trendy’s reporter) helpfully aided him in completing his words “ Hao Jiu Bu Jian!” (Literally means long time haven’t met in Chinese) He immediately nodded his head quickly and repeated once “ hao jiu bu jian!” Haha! He must have forgotten “ bu jian” (means haven’t met) He then tilited his head and looked at the little tag-a-long (Trendy’s reporter) “ Hao jiu bu jian? Hao jiu bu jian?” after he was sure he got it right, he immediately ran up to Ken and said loudly “ HAO JIU BU JIAN!” the cute action had everyone laughing.
And just as Jung Min was practicing his “hao jiu bu jian” something else was happening at the side. As Ken was speaking to Hyun Joong, Hyung Joon also entered the room. Ken used Korean to greet Hyung Joon, Hyung Joon who seemed to have missed the greeting, and didn’t reply. Hyun Joong as the leader, immediately called out to stop Hyung Joon and told Hyung Joon seriously that Ken was greeting him. After Hyung Joon heard what Hyun Joong said, he looked like a child who made a mistake. He quickly and bashfully walked up to Ken to bow and greet him. After Hyun Joong watching Hyung Joon seriously finished his greetings, his smile then returned to his face. A really responsible team leader! Hyun Joong.
Playful and Mischievous all at one go
It was the official filming, maybe it is because it’s second time on Ken’s programme, SS501 and Ken were more familiar, not only were there more smiles and chatter, they didn’t spare any efforts in being mischievous, Hyung Joon V.S. Jung Min’s classic Tom and Jerry battle was a must!
Just after sitting down, Jung Min first smelled Hyung Joon who was sitting next to him and immediately said in Chinese “Hao chou!” (which literally mean very smelly! ) using one had to cover his nose and the other hand to make a move, pretending to push Hyung Joon away.
Hyung Joon pouted innocently, but immediately retaliated using his palm to hit Jung Min’s thigh. Their argument even spreaded to Young Saeng and Kyu Jong at the side. Unexpectedly, the usually calm Young Saeng couldn’t resist and also joined in, using his finger to poke Hyung Joon. Kyu Jong who was seriously and silently repeating his name in Chinese at the side was so affected by their commotion that all the Chinese he learnt flew away at that instant, and he had to quickly secretly seek for help from the lady translator.
Although all this time, leader Hyun Joong did not join in the commotion, he actually started playing with his bangle. He first placed it at his right ear then placed it at his left ear to try and see if he could make the bangle become an ear ring. After he thought that no one was looking, he chuckled to himself. However, Ken immediately caught his 4D actions.
Young Saeng’s little words are very innocent
During the process of the interview, Young Saeng was really too quiet, Ken specially appointed him to answer the question regarding the concert, if there were anything special about the style of clothes. The other four members also took the chance to ask Young Saeng to speak more.
Young Saeng thought for a long time but showed much difficulty in his expression. The translator lady misunderstood Young Saeng as not being able to comprehend and quickly repeated the question again. Leader Kim couldn’t resist and took over to answer the question.
Ken was very curious as to what happen to Young Saeng a while ago? Young Saeng said innocently “ to give the fans a surprise, so all concert content and clothes have to be kept a secret!” Ken couldn’t resist Young Saeng’s innocent expression and explained that the filming will only be broadcasted after the concert. But because of this, everyone felt Young Saeng’s meticulous thought and his love for the fans.
The tongue twister that made SS501 very confused
And during this interview, one of the most classic parts was the Korean tongue twister that Ken had been practicing very hard for a long time.
When Ken read the tongue twister at one go for the first time, SS501 was too confused, all members were stunned for three seconds, Kyu Jong even pretended to faint and collapsed while laughing on the sofa.
During the second attempt of the tongue twister, Hyun Joong’s confusion made it look as if there was a messy ball of grey wool thread above his head. However, after that he seemed to realize that his name was in the tongue twister and hence when his name was read, he placed his hand on his chest and pat himself, but was still confused and knitted his eyebrows.
The other lead of the tongue twister, Hyung Joon, upon hearing his name, raised his name and asked “Is it me? Was it Hyung Joon? “ Thankfully for Jung Min’s gifted linguistic ability, after listening for a few times, he near accurately deciphered the meaning of the tongue twister and cleared the confusion of the others.
As the meaning of the tongue twister was revealed, SS501 couldn’t stop clapping and laughing excessively, and were fighting to read and read it for a few times.
Simultaneously, Jung Min pretended to be jealous and said, “Hmp! My name wasn’t used! “ But his jealousy disappeared quickly when Ken took out the Marble Soft Drink (弹珠汽水 is a traditional soft drink in Taiwan with a marble in the bottle)

After Ken’s explanation, five members managed to successfully open the bottle, but the drink under the “torture” of the five members started spraying out of the bottle at the instant. Not only did SS501 not mind the drink that was spraying all over, they were instead, more curious about the marble in the bottle. They happily cheers with Ken and even playfully wanted Hyung Joon to compete with Ken to finish the everything at one go.

SS501’s first experience with Tarot cards
JK Pop Music Craze also specially invited a tarot card teacher to help SS501 predict their recent luck. Towards the mysterious tarot cards, SS501 were very enthusiastic in trying. The good and well-behaved kid Kyu Jong wanted to find out about his health. The tarot cards read that SS501 will enter a stage where they are very very busy, hence physically; it will be a great challenge. The teacher adviced kyu jong to treat himself better and to allow himself to have time to rest, take a breather and to also to consume supplements. He could also use some cologne with refreshing smells to aid him in relaxing.
The question quiet prince Young Saeng wanted to ask was actually, when can he get a girlfriend? For this question, the rest of the members looked more anxious and excited than Young Saeng himself, much less the pea princesses who support and love him!
Ahh, what the tarot card reads may disappoint Young Saeng, but make many pea princesses happy instead - within the short period of time because Young Saeng would be too busy with work, he would not be able to get a girlfriend!
Young Saeng’s disappointment was written all over his face and although the remaining wickedly laughed at him, they also quickly comforted him, Kyu Jong and Hyung Joon even gave him a hug. Young Saeng wouldn’t let go and continued asking “I can’t draw another card?” It seems that he is really very disappointed!
When it was Hyung Joon’s turn, without thinking, he opened his eyes widely and asked “I would like to know when I will get married?” His expressionless expression caused him to get attacked by the other four members. Jung Min shook his head and said “Which girl would want to marry you?” Young Saeng sighed and said, “Hyung Joon is a bad boyfriend” the very responsible leader Hyun Joong said “We haven’t even started promoting our new album, what’s with getting married!”
Hyung Joon argued back innocently “I really want to know!” which resulted in even more attacks at him. The kind Kyu Jong stepped out to help Hyung Joon, and as Kyu Jong comforted Hyung Joon, he suggested Hyung Joon to ask about the new album which SS501 were very concerned about. Hyung Joon heard this and immediately forgot his insistence and with a changed expression asked loudly “I would like to know if our new album will sell well and obtain the annual champions.”
This question is definitely what SS501 cared very much about and as Hyung Joon was drawing the card, everyone was watching closely. Hyung Joon drew the “ Nine of Cups” (also known as minor arcana to tarot card readers) representing that the album will receive a lot of support and love from everyone.
Jung Min also kept saying that he wanted to ask the same question, and once he drew, he drew the card with a lot of money (coins) on it and happily said loudly “There is a lot of coins! We are going to be rich people!”
What? There is someone in SS501 who wants to go solo?
Initially, we thought that Young Saeng and Hyung Joon’s questions were enough to excite everyone’s hearts but unexpectedly, Jung Min dropped an even bigger bomb. “Will SS501 be a group that will last for a every long time (forever)?” asked Jung Min. After asking, he explained with an innocent expression “Because Hyung Joon kept wanting to go solo, so I’m really worried!” after which he covered his face and pretended to cry, which lasted only three seconds before he burst out laughing.
Jung Min’s accusation left Hyung Joon speechless and was innocently dragged into another around of getting “attacked”. The card which Jung Min picked, even Hyun Joong, after seeing it, wrapped his arms around his chest and laughed. Jung Min saw the card he picked and laughed loudly as he exclaimed “What should I do?” Young Saeng and Kyu Jong quickly took the card over and looked, Young Saeng laughed and shook his head and said, “Oh no, trouble!” Kyu Jong laughed and hid the card under the table and said that the card cannot be used. And the “lead” Hyung Joon just kept giving silly laughs and asked, “What’s that?”
What happened was that Jung Min drew a card which showed a person being tied up by ropes and had three swords piercing at the person. The teacher explained “One member wishes to get concern from everyone and needs attention from others…so as long as everyone cares for each other and communicate well, SS501 will continue forever!”
That “one person”, who exactly is that “one person”? The answer was obvious, but everyone was laughing too hard to explicitly say. However, the “lead” wasn’t satisfied at being lonely and jumped out to deny, “That person definitively isn’t me, because I feel that everyone pays too much attention to me!” Hyung Joon’s serious expression led to another round of laughter which lasted for a long while.
Lastly, Hyun Joong displayed his 4D ability again and asked, “Will I live for a long time? Will I die early?”
Young Saeng and Kyu Jong were also very worried about their leader’s lifespan, but Jung Min and Hyung Joon ganged up and teased Hyun Joong “The death card may appear and you may just kicked the bucket tomorrow!” “The result may be you have very short life” Hyun Joong didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at this.
Fortunately, the card read a message that “Hyun Joong will be very healthy and live a long life.” So do not be worried.

Cover Story – SS501 Press Conference
SS501’s charisma took Taiwan by storm, not only did the concert sales made a shocking record by breaking it and selling out within two days, every single album also sold well and even broke the record criteria of 5 platinum albums. Even for their latest REBIRTH album, the pre-order had very good results. The music company also specially held a celebratory press conference for SS501.
At the site of the press conference, the cover of REBIRTH was used as the backdrop for the press conference. While receiving platinum award during the photo taking, the five couldn’t stop bending over to look at the huge board that they were holding. Leader also understood the requirements of the reporters very well and took the initiative to direct everyone’s line of vision and to change their poses.
Once the press conference started, SS501 was first asked about their first concert in Taiwan. Hyun Joong represented and answered “We were very happy to find out that the concert tickets for Taiwan’s concert were sold out within two days. We are very thankful for the Taiwanese fans’ support and we will definitely bring the Taiwanese fans a concert which is even better than 100%, please look forward to it!”
They specially prepared a Chinese song for the Taiwanese fans this time, to be sung by SS501’s most sexy Jung Min. Jung Min said “Tian Mi Mi” has always been a song he has liked a lot, he also acceded to the reporter’s request and sung part of the song live, his very accurate Mandarin had won recognition through the media’s applause and everyone couldn’t help but look forward to Jung Min’s performance during the concert.
Laughter within the Chinese Test
It has been heard that for the Taiwan concert, SS501 had been practicing mandarin very seriously. During the press conference, a test was carried out to check the results of their practice. This time what SS501 is challenging is something that would even knot the tongues of Taiwanese - the Mandarin tongue twisters.
The most linguistically gifted in SS501, Jung Min was the first to accept the test. Who would have thought that he would be tested something which even the Chinese would complain about it’s level of difficulty, the one with the devil level, “ si shi si zhi shi shi zi” (or literally forty four stone lions) tongue twister.
Although there was much laughter, but Jung Min managed to smoothly pass through the test. Jung Min’s gifted performance not only won the respect of the other four members, Kyu Jong after listening even collapsed onto the table.
When it was time to choose the next person to take the test, the remaining four silently avoided the eyes of the MC, Kyu Jong used his fingers and secretly made an “X” sign, hoping that he wouldn’t be chosen; while Young Saeng’s head was so low it was almost going to be buried under the table. With an obvious facial expression saying “don’t chose me”, but was still caught by the MC.
Young Saeng was chosen to do the tongue twister that had to do with eating vegetarian. It was very difficult, but under Young Saeng’s sense of rhythm and the other four member’s “chi su” (which being to eat vegetarian), and with laughter, he successfully completed his challenge. The one who is truly gifted and does not show, is leader Hyun Joong, he was the real genius. If you haven’t seen it with your own eyes, you wouldn’t believe that he was a foreigner who could complete the tongue twister so smoothly.
Full of confidence, the work of five 'REBIRTH'
After smoothly sailing past the mandarin tongue twisters, SS501 followed up introducing their new mini album 'REBIRTH'. After one year and seven months, SS501 was back together as five again to launch their new refreshing work.
Kyu Jong was full of confidence and introduced “ This time we tried a lot of things, both on the type of song and on our style, we wanted to show everyone a new look for SS501. REBIRTH includes the opinions of all the members and was mainly produced based on our ideas as the focus. We hope that after everyone have listened to this mini album, could find a different SS501 and we hope that everyone will like it.”
Being questioned about the shocking smoky make-up this time, Hyun Joong replied “the smoky makeup style this time hopes to present SS501’s sexiness and a mature image of a man, initially the members were not used to it. This is also the first time since I’ve debut, to cut my hair so short, but the result of the photographs were not bad. Hopefully everyone can feel the SS501’s manly charisma!”
SS501 also said that this time during the Taiwan concert, they would be singing songs from their new mini album and hopes that everyone can support it!
First revelation in Taiwan, lesson on SS501’s new song hand signs
After the press conference, SS501 also showed the hand signs of the dance steps from their new song which has never been revealed before. Hopefully when everyone listens to “Love like this” they can follow SS501 to show “ L.O.V.E.” four movements for support!
An apology to the dear fans
Just after landing and existing from the plane, SS501 was received by many enthusiastic fans and a large number of media and was heavily surrounded by them. This resulted in the area becoming chaotic and people were pushing around. This made all the members from SS501 very worried about the state of the fans. As the leader, Hyun Joong also specially apologized to all the fans and media at the press conference. Hopefully everyone will be able to understand the duty of the bodyguards and sincerely hope that no one was hurt.

Hyung Jun’s Chinese Specialty is actually…
Hyung Jun who was busy fighting with Jung Min never had the chance to display his Mandarin ability, but actually there are two lines which Hyung Jun says especially well. And the two lines he actually says well are…. “Jin Xian Zhong” (Leader’s Chinese name!) and “Jin Kui Zhong” (Kyu Jong’s Chinese name!) However, it’s puzzling because “Jin Xian Zhong” and “ Jin Kui Zhong” sounds very accurate but there is a humorous feeling to it. Hyun Joon is really SS501’s “Moving Laughter Machine”

Both the brothers are like treasures, (which means they are funny in a Chinese way of expressing it) during the press conference both of them mischievously started using the cup coasters and pretended to be Ultraman. Jung Min even took off the place tape on the microphone and pasted it on Hyung Jun’s face, pretending it was a moustache, totally forgetting the presence of the media reporters below the stage….When Jung Min was about to introduce the new mini album, he very satisfyingly started clapping his hands, Hyung Jun at one side reached out to Hyung Jun for a “give me five” recognition. Unexpectedly, Jung Min purposely clenched his fingers into a fist, resulting in Hyung Jun hitting into thin air. And the Tom and Jerry battle ensues once again….

Young Saeng’s ingenious way of relieving stress
Being asked about being Asia’s best idol group, do you feel stressed? What is your stress relieving methods? Jung Min mischievously laughed and said he looks like someone who does not have stress and threw the question at Young Saeng who has been keeping very quiet. Young Saeng magnanimously shared his ingenious way of relieving stress, which is to drink a bit of soju then sing and listen to music. However, he was suspected of being a '宅男'? (宅男pronounce as 'zhai nan' is a Taiwanese slang which refers to guys who like to stay at home and not go out) Young Saeng hurriedly said that it was together with friends! He shyly tried to sell himself by smiling and saying that as long as one goes to listen SS501’s concert, all stress would immediately disappear!

Being asked the last time they came to Taiwan, did they miss anything? Kyu Jong replied that besides missing the fans, he missed Xiao Long Bao (a small dumpling found in Taiwan) and bubble tea, hopefully they can eat it this time again. Jung Min added on and said if there was a chance, he’d want to walk around the night market. Hyung Jun who had tried the smelly tofu the last time wants to challenge the pig's blood cake (a type of food made solidify pig’s blood) this time!

Hyun Joong always has a serious expression, everyone couldn’t help but guess if it is because he is not in a good mood. Hyun Joong quickly smiled and explained that because he is a nocturnal animal hence during the day, maybe because he just woke up, he will be less active or look very tired, but once it is at night, he will be very energetic. So, the concert will be exactly when he will be most active and energetic. He even invited everyone to the concert to prove that he is speaking the truth.
About the previous news of getting the new influenza, Hyun Joong also formerly told everyone that he has completely recovered and even joked that having caught the new influenza once, he will build up immunity against it “so for the following Asia Tour concerts, I will be the safest person!”

Trendy accidentally induced a hilarious snatching battle. Before the interview begun, the sharp-eyed Young Saeng and Kyu Jong discovered on the table, two Trendy magazines with SS501 on the cover. Young Saeng very politely enquired first, “May I have a look?” Of course! Then, he and Kyu Jong very happily flipped and looked through the Trendy magazine, simultaneously laughing and discussing about the photos and content inside.
The happy aura exuded by the two, of course immediately attracted the attention of the other three. “Oh~~” Hyung Jun discovered the item on Young Saeng’s hand and immediately attempted to snatch it. Hyung Jun tried to take it back, but the book with Jung Min had then fallen into the hands of Hyun Joong. Hence during the entire interview session, the five of SS501 on one hand were busy answering the questions, on the other hand, were thinking of all sorts of methods, under the circumstance of not damaging the magazine, happily fought to look at their photoshoot and remember the actual senario during that time.

Despite being very pressed for time, SS501, still tried very hard to take time out of their schedule for this interview, although it wasn’t long, but hopefully it allows the fans to be even closer to them.
Question: After debut, is there any unforgettable birthday experience?
Jung Min: Only bad experience! (pouts) In Thailand…
(Upon listening to Jung Min mention about Thailand, the other four all laughed, Jung Min himself also burst out laughing) When the five of us went to Thailand to work, it was coincidentally my birthday, everyone agreed on having a birthday party. Oh…thinking back now I want to tear already! (Jung Min said and laughed simultaneously)
Because I was the birthday boy that day, Stylist noona still specially helped me style a very nice looking hair style. But that day, because of work, everyone was very tired, after returning to the hotel everyone said they wanted to shower first. Because I was done and prepared very quickly, so I went to the café first alone to surf the net and wait for everyone. However, after playing for a long time, two hours had passed and no one came for me. So I thought of returning to the room first!
Unexpectedly, on the way back to the room, when I was passing by the room next door, I suddenly discovered that the room next door was bustling with noise and very lively, everyone was inside and very happy, what is happening? I silently went back to my room, spent the DVD-watching birthday alone. Later I found out, actually no one realized that they had a birthday party without the birthday boy that day. It just happened that the DVD watched that day was musical “Grease”, maybe it’s because of this lucky coincidence, so later it allowed me to have the chance to act in the musical “ Grease”. Haha~ but everytime when I think about this incident, I still want to tear. (pretends to wipe away tears)
Hyun Joong: We debuted on the 8th of June and two days before debut (6th June) just happens to be my birthday, but because we were preparing to debut, so during that period of time there was a lot of work. On my birthday, coincidentally we were having the filming of the music video, the filming work carried on for the whole day, all my memories of that day was only “tired”, so that day I have a very tiring birthday which was unforgettable.
(Hyung Jun took the chance when Hyun Joong was answering the question, to try and snatch the Trendy magazine from Hyun Joong’s hands, he even used mandarin to softly call Jin Xian Zhong, Jin Xian Zhong (Hyun Joong’s Chinese name), finally Hyun Joong loosen his grip and just when Hyung Jun was being gleeful, it was his turn to answer questions again.)
Hyung Jun: My unforgettable birthday…
Hyun Joong: Aiyo, he cried really badly.
Jung Min: Hurry film him, hurry film him! (Jung Min directed the camera to purposely divert Hyung Jun’s attention, Kyu Jong also pretended to be a camera man and kept snapping shots of Hyung Jun. The moment Hyung Jun just opens his mouth to speak, he gets teased again, he could only could use “AiYoo” to protest)
Hyung Jun: Since debut there has been many touching birthdays, the one with the deepest impression is after debut when everyone for the first time helped me celebrate my birthday, it really made me very happy. (Jung Min started teasing at the side again, “Hyung Jun, don’t cry!” which made Hyun Joong laugh non-stop, Young Saeng while laughing pretended to console Hyung Jun by patting his back, but instead took the chance to take the book from him. Hyung Jun who wanted to answer the question very seriously glared at Jung Min who keep teasing him. But this glare made Hyun Joong and Kyu Jong tease him about the incident where he kept crying, Hyung Jun could only show an innocent face.)
Young Saeng: I also have many birthday memories that left very deep impressions on me. But the deepest impression was last year’s birthday party. After having the birthday party I realized, actually have more friends than I imagined, there were at least twenty over people who came to the party, everyone celebrated my birthday happily. But, the presents I received were very little, among the twenty people, only Hyun Joong gave me a present. Kyu Jong and Jung Min just said they will buy one for me later, eventually only Kyu Jong bought it.
Jung Min: (After listening about the present asked shockingly) I really didn’t buy a birthday present for you?
Hyun Joong: You only gave Hyung Jun a birthday present!
Jung Min: Oh, is that so? When it is your birthday this year, I will definitely buy a present for you.

After thinking hard, hurriedly flipped through the SS501 exclusive interview in the second issue of Trendy and the 1st Solo Album (Taiwan Edition), included in SS501’s 1st Solo Album Taiwan edition, Young Saeng’s solo 'It's not love?' (사랑인거죠). Young Saeng in the previous interview with Trendy, explained the message that his solo was trying to convey, it was really similar to the confession experience Young Saeng mentioned this time. Hyun Joong: Actually I don’t like the beach, I prefer the riverside. During summer, in Korea at Chuncheon, you can have jet ski, bungee jump or sail, at night you could even have a barbeque party.
Jung Min: (When it was time for Jung Min to answer, he was still looking at the Trendy magazine intensely) Is it me? I don’t like sports…hahahaha…
Kyu Jong: I….don’t like water. (Kyu Jong’s frightened expression made everyone laugh)
Question: SS501 who sings love ballads very well, in real life, are there any special confession experience?
Jung Min: About this question, let’s allow Kyu Jong answer first.

Jung Min: Was immediately given a flying kick by the girl right! (Jung Min did a flying kick movement towards Hyung Jun, Hyun Joong even helped to give a side commentary, “Go away!”)
Hyun Joong: My confession method ah… you cannot confess once you like. It has to be after both parties have interacted and know each other, confirmed how the other party feels, then will I confess, so I don’t have much experience of getting rejected, because I have already confirmed the other person’s feelings.

During the process of the interview, both of the Trendy magazines that were constantly being snatched around by the five, finally all landed in the hands of Jung Min. Hyung Jun who could never snatch the book over, wanted to make use of the chance when Jung Min was answering questions, to secretly snatch the magazine away from Jung Min’s thigh. Unfortunately, the moment he reached out, he was discovered by Jung Min and was scolded, “Hyung Jun! Now we are in the process of the interview, you cannot do this!” Hyung Jun could only silently pull his hand back unwillingly and pout. But Jung Min ah~, it seems like you also took the chance when Hyun Joong was answering questions and not paying attention to snatch the book over right?
Question: So does Jung Min accept a girl’s initiative to confess?
Jung Min: But like this...., I won’t like the girl anymore, (laughs) usually if I know or feel that a certain girl likes me a lot, I will probably try to escape.
Kyu Jong: In high school, I had a senior I liked a lot. I sung lee sung-gi’s내여자라니까 (You are my girl) for that senior and confessed to her. Although she didn’t accept initially, but I never gave up, in the end, the senior agreed to meet me. But after one month, she said she didn’t like me and didn’t want to meet anymore. After that I discovered, she went with another guy, although at that point of time, I did want to snatch her back, but the opponent was a senior from the school’s gym department so I gave up.

Hyung Jun: Xiao Long Bao (Chinese) (note: Xiao Long Bao is a type of soup dumpling found in the Chinese cuisine.)
Jung Min: Oh? To eat Xiao Long Bao for the entire day?
(Young Saeng, Kyu Jong and Hyun Joong simultaneously did the action of pretending to continuously stuff food into the mouth.)
Hyun Joong: I would want to have a date at Jeju Island. The scenery there is beautiful and very clean, and there’s Jeju island’s famous local product salt water fish.
Hyung Jun: (Criticizes) Wants to go fish for salt water fish together for a date.

Hyun Joong: We can eat fresh and delicious seafood there happily. As for presents, can give Jeju island’s specialty - oranges. One oranges costs about ten thousand won! (slightly more than SGD11) The vitamin content of this orange, as compared to normal orange, it’s more than ten times. Eating it is good for the body and skin!

Jung Min: I want to go on a trip, a trip for only two people to go. Then spend a passionate night which only belongs to the both of us (laughs)

Jung Min: I hope that my future marriage partner can be someone who is filial to parents and magnanimous, a girl who treats the people around her very well.
Hyun Joong: I hope she will respect my job, can feel very free when we are together and an other half who is like a friend.
Hyung Jun: A girl who is hardworking, but not the type who is hardworking at housework. But someone who has her own job and can make money with me, or someone who can venture in terms of career with me.

Cover story: Trendy Exclusive: SS501 'A za A za Korean Song' Broadcasting Scene re-enecting
SS501’s last activity in their visit to Taiwan was 'BCC Entertainment E-Genration''s “A za A za Korean Song” hosted by Ken Wu. (Every Wednesday 11pm) On the day of recording, Ken had another activity and was unable to be there, hence was replaced by the cute Kimchi Little Sister to present the 'Cloudy' cupcakes to SS501 to congratulate their new album REBIRTH and to go to their hotel to interview SS501! SS501 has been working endlessly and their eyes lit up when they saw the cupcakes, They applauded and cheered while immediately began to enjoy Ken’s gift.
Showcase of SS501’s comedy
Facing many different flavours of cupcakes, Hyung Jun was in a dilemma and after much difficulty, he decided on the taro flavoured, but refused to eat it and insisted on smelling first. It would be better if he didn’t decide to smell because at his attempt in smelling, he got cream all over his nose. All the staff at the scene wanted to laugh but they couldn’t because it was a radio recording, it almost caused an “internal wound” disaster.
Jung Min’s comedian ability is not much lesser. Jung Min chose a cupcake named “Blueberry Queen”, he first praised the cake for looking cute and looked at in much detail for half the time before lifting his head to say “This… looks like contact lenses (referring to the blueberry on the cake), someone’s contact lenses have fallen onto my cake.” He made an action to pick up the blueberry and place it on his eye, which made Kyu Jong who was at the side can't take it and laugh out.
And how could Hyung Jun miss the chance of being mischievous? He immediately pretended to take off his contact lenses and threw it towards Jung Min’s cake: “Jung Min ah~ my contact lenses has fallen out.” However, it resulted in both Jung Min and Hyun Joong rolling their eyes, because Hyun Joong was seriously answering his question and hasn’t even had a bite of the cupcake.
Kyu Jong who had recently participated in a webtoon and had great performance was asked how he felt about fliming the kissing scene with the female lead. He first made a face, then shyly bend down his head smiling: “Very nervous, but also very happy.” Hyung Jun at the side shouted: “Cannot~ cannot bobo.”
And as Kyu Jong was being asked which female actress he would like to work with, the other four started being mischievous again…
Hyung Jun hurriedly helped Kyu Jong answer: “The actress he wants to work most with is Kim Hyung Jun!” Hyun Joong heard that and immediately let out a horrified expression, “Aigoo, so scary!” Young Saeng shook his head and said he wouldn’t dare to watch, Jung Min who was at the side helped Kyu Jong answer: “Definitely not (with Hyung Jun) film a kiss scene, definitely not!” Fortunately, Kyu Jong was not affected and calmly answered which female actress he wanted to work most with – Oh Se Jung, is an actress he has liked all along and who is also his ideal type.
Interview Scene which were like a hell of suppressing laughter
Hyung Jun is well known for being stingy, but will he be the same after having a girlfriend or getting married? Just as Kimchi Little Sister finished asking in mandarin, without waiting for the korean translation, Jung Min said immediately: “You’re asking about Hyung Jun being stingy right? Haha….”
Everyone didn’t give Hyung Jun a chance to answer at all and immediately nodded their heads, “Will! Hyung Jun definitely will be still be stingy.” Hyung Jun was at a loss for words.
Hyun Joong added oil to the fire, “By marrying Hyung Jun, you might even need to pay him!” Jung Min nodded his head furiously saying Yes Yes Yes, Young Saeng also said: “That’s right! That’s right!” Hyun Joong continued and said: “After getting married, because Hyung Jun wants a double income family..... (Hyung Jun immediately rebutted “It’s very tiring to earn money alone!”) so, everyday when he goes home, he will ask his wife: “Honey, how much did you earn today?“ and start counting the money.” As Hyun Joong said that, he acted it out, causing everyone to laugh and collapse onto the couch.
Next, when it was Hyun Joong’s turn to answer questions, although his voice sounds calm and matured, but it was nothing like this at the scene. He looked at the mike in detail for a long time, trying to figure out if it was possible to be dismantled, he then looked cross-eyed at the microphone, the entire scene sunk into a hell of suppressing laughter again.
As Hyun Joong was being comical, Jung Min was curious and ate the Pi Pa herbal throat soothing candy (Note: it helps soothe your throat and protect your voice) that Trendy brought for SS501. Jung Min showed a shocked expression and asked in a soft voice “ Is this really good for the throat?” And maybe because Jung Min’s expression was overly shocked, Kyu Jong immediately abandoned the thought of trying.
(Trendy OS: After the smelly tofu incident last time, in addition to this time’s Pi Pa herbal throat soothing candy, maybe Kyu Jong would never believe Trendy’s recommendations again! (cries) Kyu Jong ah~ This is guaranteed to be much better than the last time’s smelly tofu!)
Jung Min said there are many types of characters he wishes to challenge for acting, however, the one he wants most, is still the type which are very lively, outgoing and handsome role, or maybe the antagonist, for example: a murder. He even had an impromptu performance of being a murder, Hyung Jun raised his hand and voluntarily complemented the act, “I’m the victim!”
After Hyun Joong watched Jung Min’s impromptu act, he bluntly commented: “Hyung Jun role is very simple, from the beginning till the end there is only one line which is: “ Ahhh~”, then his head will drop down, end of performance and collect his pay. HAHAHAHA….”
To answer who in SS501 is the member who loves to hallucinate the most, Hyung Jun answer loudly in mandarin: “Jin Xian Zhong.” (Hyun Joong’s Chinese name) But the rest of the members silently used their fingers and pointed at, Hyung Jun.
Hyung Jun shouted out unbelievably: “Is it me? How can that be?” And later in each member’s revelations, Hyung Jun is not only the king of hallucination, but he also took the champion of being Da Leng Chang King (Note: 冷场Leng Chang literally means a cold atmosphere, meaning that whenever the person says something it will be followed by an awkward silence and the atmosphere just “dries up”)

Time seems to fly in any place with SS501, although Trendy and Kimchi Little Sister have both hope so much to bring more of SS501 to everyone, but in order to leave more time for SS501 for their concert rehearsals, the interview recording this time also ended reluctantly in the laugher that SS501 brought.

Cover Story: SS501 Asia Tour Persona 2009 in Taipei
SS501’s concert which the Taiwan Pea Princesses have stretched their necks awaiting, have finally arrived at the Taipei Arena! On the day of the concert, there were 12,000 fans packed inside, not only did they use green light sticks to turn the Taipei Arena into a sea of green, they also had fan chants which they have been practicing for a long time and the screams which hit the roofs of the arena. SS501 couldn’t help but praise them on stage, the Taiwan pea princesses are the most passionate and enthusiastic. The high decibel cheers also allowed SS501 to completely feel the strong support given by the Taiwanese fans. SS501 totally sang 22 songs, although the arrangement of the songs were slightly different from the Seoul concert, but SS501 brought with full sincerity the new songs which were going to be released on 30 October new album. This included “Only One day”, “Wan.Dou.Gong.” (Song to fans) and the new album’s main hit song “Love Like This”. They also meticulously prepared a surprise, only for the Taiwan fans. Jung Min used mandarin to give a touching confession: “This is a song for everyone, because of your passion, it makes me feel very sweet” and the whole arena went crazy. The “Tian Mi Mi” was sung very accurately, Jung Min seemed like a high powered electric generator, sending off continuously electric waves to the entire audience along with the lyrics. The entire arena’s atmosphere was at it’s maximum high. Lastly, he said: “All of you are my little sweet heart.” which made everyone felt even more sweet in their hearts.
And the Taiwan pea princesses also specially prepared a birthday support for Young Saeng, whose birthday was arriving. The initial sea of green in the Taipei arena, during Young Saeng’s solo, turned blue, allowing him to present 이름없는기억(Nameless memory) in a sea of blue. Just as the stage and the audience below were engaged in pouring water on each other during the encore, SS501’s first Taiwan concert reluctantly ended.
